The Briarwood PTA is pleased to announce a delicious way to support our students. Otis Spunkmeyer is one of the most famous brands of cookies. We will be selling the pre-portioned, ready to bake, frozen cookie dough in twelve popular flavors. In addition, Otis Spunkmeyer offers six pastries and four Cucina Grande ready to bake, frozen pizzas. Orders will be taken in March 16-27, 2017. Orders will be delivered on April 20, 2017.

Please cut and save Box Tops for Education. You can send them to school at anytime in a plastic sandwich bag with your teacher’s name on the outside of the bag to receive credit for monthly and year-end classroom collection competitions. Briarwood PTA receives 10¢ from General Mills Corporation for every Box Top collected. Briarwood PTA uses this income to fund special events for its students.

Lunch for the Break is working to make sure all Issaquah School District students have enough to eat, even when school is not in session. This program is run through the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank.

Lunch for the Beak provides a free box of grocery items for each student in the family that can be used to make breakfast, lunch and snacks. Each box is filled according to a specific shopping list, so all boxes are the same.

Briarwood families help provide about 30 boxes of food through a food collection drive.

Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank provides a weekend bag of kid-friendly food to help end weekend hunger in Issaquah schools.
Each child in a family receives a bag every Friday at school - ask your teacher or counselor for a Power Pack today!

Chairs help pick up the power packs from the food bank and bring them to school for the counselor to distribute confidentially.

The Washington State PTA, in partnership with the National PTA, sponsors a state wide arts education contest in the fall known as the Reflections Program. The student art entries will be judged at the school (Briarwood), council (Issaquah School District) and Washington State PTA levels. The State PTA winners are entered into the National PTA contest. The objective of the Gift-A-Book program is to help build our school’s library as well as foster a love for books and a sense of pride in our library. Parents are given the opportunity to purchase a book that will be donated to the library in their child’s name. Each month, notice goes home with each student who has a birthday that month. When the order is processed a book plate is inserted in the book designating the book as a gift from the student.
