Happy Fall! We hope this note finds you back in the swing of things this school year. We are so thankful that Briarwood is almost back to normal!
I am pleased to announce the launch of our Briarwood PTA Fall Membership Drive which begins today and ends Friday, November 12th. We want to give a big, heart-felt “Thank You!” to all of you who have already signed up to be members! We are halfway to our goal of 611. Why 611? Because there are 611 students at Briarwood and 611 PTA members would constitute 100% membership - a lofty yet achievable goal!
Hopefully, by now, you know about the great work that the PTA does for the staff and students of Briarwood. We think of our work as “filling in the gaps” where state funding is too small or non-existent. We directly fund programs for art, reading, math, science, and much more! I invite you to visit our website to acquaint yourself with all the programs, events, and activities we are working on.
However, we cannot do this work alone and we need your help! If you haven’t already, please sign up to be a member of the Briarwood PTA today! It takes 5 minutes and $20 per family to join. Note that this does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer your time. All families are busy, but we are willing to bet that everyone can spare 5 minutes. With respect to the $20 membership fee, scholarships are available to cover the cost! Please simply send us an email to access these funds (no questions asked).
To show our gratitude to all folks who are signed up by November 12th, the PTA will be sending home a Briarwood car bumper magnet so you can show your Briarwood Pride on the bumper of your car! These will not be available outside this offer and will not be available to non-members. (This includes all folks who have signed up this school year. One magnet per membership, while supplies last!)
Additionally, each classroom is competing for prizes. All classes that achieve 100% membership (ex. 20 students = 20 members) will receive an extra recess! And the three classes with the highest membership percentage will get to “Silly String” a mystery staff member! Be prepared for your kiddos to make sure that you have signed up!
